The Flower That Blooms in Adversity

During this shoot, I asked my models to work with the fabric rather than against it. In this shot, my model has become a part of the swirling fabric around her, creating a new shape as a part of a whole.

Nikki Raitz is 21 years old and currently pursuing a BFA in Drawing & Painting at Kennesaw State University. Motion and mystery are something that deeply inspire Nikki and this theme can be seen throughout most of her works today. Her body of work includes dance photography, fine art wheatpastes, and portraiture. Nikki loves reading books on rainy days, swing dancing, meeting new people and watching movies curled up on the couch. She works for hire as a photographer in product photography, portraits, and dance sessions.

Nikki is excited for the opportunity to be a part of this year’s exhibition and have a greater ability to connect with the photography community in Atlanta.
